Welcome to Barsu, my home nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. I was born and raised here, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the rhythms of mountain life. Inspired by my roots and driven by a dream to serve my community, I founded Bugyal Sarai—a space that connects people with nature, culture, and the soul of the mountains.

With over 25 years of experience in trekking, hospitality, and cultural tourism, my journey began after I completed my Tourism Management degree in 1998. I spent years working as a trek leader and camp manager with one of India’s pioneering rafting companies, guiding more than 50 treks across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Some of my favorite trails include Dayara Bugyal, Gidara, Dayara–Dodital, and Kheetaal—hidden gems of the Himalayas.

In 2005, I returned to my village and started Bugyal Sarai with just four tents. Today, it’s a trusted homestay and trekking base, known for its warmth, authenticity, and deep connection to local life.

Inspired by my mentor Mukul Manglik, Bugyal Sarai was envisioned as more than a stay—it’s a shelter for trekkers, dreamers, and nature lovers. A place to rest, recharge, and reconnect—with the mountains and with yourself.

I enjoy sharing local folk tales, spotting Himalayan birds and plants, and offering traditional village cuisine straight from our hearth. At Bugyal Sarai, every guest becomes a part of our extended mountain family.
