Trek to Chopta-Chandrashila

Starting Point: Rishikesh / Haridwar

Day 1: Arrival at Chopta (2,680m)

  • Arrive at Chopta, often referred to as the 'Mini Switzerland of India'.
  • Enjoy the scenic beauty of meadows, rhododendron forests, and snow-clad peaks.
  • Acclimatization walk around Chopta and relax with a beautiful sunset view.

Day 2: Chopta to Tungnath (3,680m) | 3.5 km Trek (3-4 hours)

  • Start the trek towards Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world.
  • The trail is well-paved, passing through lush meadows and scenic forests.
  • Explore the ancient Tungnath temple, rich in mythology and spiritual significance.
    📍 Overnight Stay: Campsite near Tungnath

Day 3: Tungnath to Chandrashila Summit (4,000m) | 1.5 km Trek (1-2 hours) | Return to Chopta

  • Early morning trek to Chandrashila Peak for breathtaking 360° panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba peaks.
  • Witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas.
  • Descend back to Chopta through the same scenic route.

Day 4: Chopta to Deoria Tal (2,438m) | 12 km Drive + 2.5 km Trek (2-3 hours)

  • Drive to Sari Village, the starting point of the Deoria Tal trek.
  • A short but rewarding trek through dense forests leads to the serene Deoria Tal, a pristine high-altitude lake.
  • Enjoy the reflection of Chaukhamba peaks in the crystal-clear waters.

Day 5: Deoria Tal to Sari Village | 2.5 km Trek (1-2 hours) | Return to Rishikesh/Haridwar

  • Wake up to a peaceful morning by the lake.
  • Descend to Sari Village and drive back to Rishikesh/Haridwar, concluding the trek.
